Jefferson County Justice of the Peace District 6.
The root word for justice is just. If you are going to be a justice, you should be fair and possess integrity. People should know that you are a just person and that your character is implemented in what you do each day.
Caring about my constituents of District 6 is very important to me. My priorities include drainage, ditches, bridges, broadband infrastructure, and roads. I need to make sure that we closely connect with our people. So they know that I, Dr. Margarette Williams care about what's important to them and their lives.
I have been an entrepreneur and business owner for the past 40 years. I am an educator with 45 years of service all here in Jefferson County. I served five years at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as the coordinator for graduate education and university academic assessment programs. I have a 38-year career as speech-language pathologist working in the Pine Bluff and Watson Chapel School Districts.
Being a career legislator, I have constructed and written policies for the last 40 years in many areas of organizational administration. This includes writing infracture policies for UAPB and the National Baptist Convention, USA. Inc.; many of which are still being enforced to date. I rewrote graduate programs’ policy manuals which defined how graduate students were admitted into the university graduate education program.
With more than 40 years of experience balancing budgets and managing fiscal operations community business structure, I am able to maintain excellent FICO rating scores.
I, Dr. Margarette Williams, am a wife, mother, businesswoman, Christian educator, motivational speaker, and speech language pathologist. Married to Lewis Williams and my family includes two daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. I am the president and CEO of LEAPS Initiatives, LLC, I am currently operating the Ephesus Christian Bookstore & Heritage Fashions Boutique, and I manages Sharper Image Barber and Styling Salon, which contracts with independent barbers and stylists.
My newest business venture, called Transformational Consultants Institute, is located at 901 West Sixth Ave. It's a nonprofit that offers congregations, businesses, educators, and community consultant services. In 2018, I also launched the Behind the Veil Expository Teaching & Writing Ministry Lunch & Learn Class. I coined it "Chit Chat & Chew with Dr. Margarette."
I earned the Doctor of Education in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and am a 2013 PhD graduate of Trinity Theological Seminary, receiving a doctorate in Leadership Ministry. I served as director of ministries and Christian education at New St. Hurricane MBC and as president of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Regular St. Marion District Association of Pine Bluff.
I am an accomplished writer, having publish numerous articles and lessons on the Christian life and missions. My first book is entitled "Honor to the Great Head of the Church: A Transformational Model for Church Leadership, Administration, and Management."
Finally, in 2022, I was elected by the voters of District 6 as Justice of the Peace for Jefferson County. I am working to make life better for all of my constituents. Serving as a JP, I have come to experience what I have always known; that, it does not matter how much one knows, but it is important to truly care for the people of Jefferson County.
For my re-election, YOU can trust that I will continue to work for you in District 6. You can depend on me to work hard on your behalf. Despite the many challenges from 2023, tremendous legislation for District 6 county infrastructure improvements was passed by the Quorum Court. Surely, you should experience seeing new construction on roads, ditches, grass cutting off the highways, and the expansion of new broadband infrastructure for your area. I advocated for millions of dollars on behalf of county roads in both 2023 well as in January 2024. But! I need your voice to be heard. I can advocate and appropriate, but you must continue to call and fight for your roads, infrastructure, your bridges, and your ditches. IT'S TIME FOR US TO COME TOGETHER AND BREAK THESE CHAINS.
